  • 8 – 15 characters
  • Contain at least one number
  • Contain at least one uppercase and one lowercase character
  • Cannot be the same as the last 9 passwords
  • Cannot contain any of these characters: <>

Why am I being asked to change my password?

We are making this change to help increase your online security. With recent financial security breaches at major retailers as well as internet viruses, like Heartbleed, United Federal Credit Union is committed to keeping your financial information safe while you use our convenient Online and Mobile Banking services.

When will the new password requirements go into effect?

Password updates will begin July 1, 2014.

How will I know if I need to change my password?

If you are required to change your password, you will be prompted during the Online or Mobile Banking login process. You will not be able to login until your password has been updated.

Can I change my password early?

Yes! You may be prompted to change your password periodically, but you always have the option to change your password at any time.

I primarily use the UFCU Mobile App. Can I update my password through the app?

No. Mobile App users who have a password which does not meet the new requirements will have to change their password by logging into Online Banking through an internet browser on a personal computer. If you do not have access to a PC, you may use your mobile device to log into the full version of Online Banking through www.unitedfcu.com and not the mobile app.

How will a Mobile App user know they need to change their password?

A Mobile App user will receive the following message when attempting to log in – “You are required to update your password. Before you proceed, you must log into Online Banking through an internet browser to make this change.”

How often will I have to change my password?

Going forward, our system will be programmed to require password changes periodically.

I use a Personal Financial Management system, such as mint.com, will I need to do anything?

Yes. The first time you access your Personal Financial Management system after changing your UFCU password, you will need to change your password for your UFCU accounts there.
