Online Banking Security

Why We Use Multifactor Authentication in Online Banking

Multifactor Authentication is the latest buzz in online banking, and you may have heard about it in the news. It is a new security measure that strengthens security at login and helps to protect against online fraud by adding one more layer to the authentication process.

Authentication is the process of verifying the member's identity when accessing our online services. In the past we used only member number and password, which is a single factor authentication process. Enhanced Security requires member number, password and some other type of "key" to complete the login process. By adding this "key" we can help to insure your financial security.

Even Greater Protection

In addition to providing Enhanced Security, United Federal Credit Union also uses a mutual authentication system. Mutual authentication is a process where member identity is authenticated AND www.unitedfcu.com is authenticated to the member.
